Korean Beef Bulgogi Skewers

Beef Bulgogi is a popular Korean BBQ dish that is sweet, savory, and full of flavor. Here's a recipe for making it at home with the SHIFU grill:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound thin-sliced beef (such as sirloin or ribeye)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon mirin (or rice wine)
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup thinly sliced green onions
  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, mirin, ginger, and black pepper. Mix well to combine.
  2. Add the beef to the marinade, making sure that each slice is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for maximum flavor.
  3. Thread the beef slices onto skewers (if using wooden skewers, soak in water for 30 minutes before using).
  4. Grill the beef skewers for 2-3 minutes per side, or until cooked to your liking.
  5. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Serve with steamed rice and Korean side dishes such as kimchi or pickled radish for a complete meal.
