Classic Cheeseburger

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Optional toppings (lettuce, tomato, cheese, ketchup, mustard, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form each portion into a patty.
  3. Use your thumb to make a small dimple in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while grilling.
  4. Place the patties on the SHIFU grill and cook for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer them more well done.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, add cheese to the patties if desired.
  6. Toast the hamburger buns on the SHIFU grill for a minute or two.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun bottom and adding your desired toppings.
  8. Enjoy!

Note: Make sure to use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the burgers for safety. Cooked burgers should reach at least 160°F.
